Emily by Caroline Shotton

Post by DEEPJOY » Sat Dec 16, 2017 1:02 pm

Hi All

As a result of local gallery all ready having Washington Green as their supplier, Washington Green will not entertain giving me an account.

Can anyone therefore offer me a limited edition print of 'Emily' by Caroline Shotton?

I think you're on a loser, Mike.

It's not just a case of already established businesses within a radius, it's also the type of business. They want High st, not home based and you can't blame them. I deal/dealt with several publishers and if I found out they were dealing with home-based framers I'd drop them like a stone.

In your position I'd just tell the customer, sure, I can source it and simply charge them x2 or 1.5/whatever the RRP - otherwise they could source it themselves - or just charge at cost and win on the framing .... not that any dedicated/partnership type shop/gallery would have the print only, the big name publishers like to sell their stuff framed or mounted.

I have no problem with the publisher choosing the right fit for any given area to supply. I was just hoping that a gallery that was using this forum may be happy to part with print to me at a reduced mark up.

Is this the one? I know the gallery the gallery quite well and it seems to be cheap enough to be able to make a few quid out of it.
